Dr. Mahnaz Arshad completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery program at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, graduating at the top of her class. She then completed her specialty training in prosthodontics at the same university and received her board certification in prosthodontics in 2011. Her professional focus is primarily on patients who require extensive rehabilitation, complex prosthodontic treatment, dental implants, occlusal correction, or oral and maxillofacial rehabilitation. Custom Subperiosteal Implants
A Customized Solution for Severely Atrophic Jaws
One of Dr. Mahnaz Arshad’s specialized areas of practice is the rehabilitation of severely resorbed jaws using custom-designed, 3D-printed subperiosteal implants.
In this approach, the patient’s three-dimensional imaging data are used to design a customized structure according to the anatomy of the jaw. The implant is then manufactured using additive manufacturing technology and placed according to the treatment plan.
Since 2023, Dr. Arshad has also been involved in research on the rehabilitation of severely atrophic jaws and prostheses supported by subperiosteal implants. Publications in this field can be viewed through this link.
